Self service portal can be configured to authenticate against enterprise Active Directory or industry standard IAM platforms like CA-SiteMinder and SUN-AM. Users can answers pre-configured questions to login to the portal. Account can be unlocked on Active Directory, Mainframe Applications, UNIX, Web, SaaS, Client server or Cloud instances of enterprise applications. What challenges does enterprise help desk face to unlock SaaS Accounts?
SaaS Applications which are hosted outside of the enterprise help desks are often not fully equipped to handle Password Resets or Account unlocks. SaaS Accounts often get locked when someone tries to access the application repeatedly with wrong password. Yes, Reports on generated whenever the accounts are unlocked. Time, User Name, Application name and time are logged in for forensics and compliance reporting. User authentication process is also logged for records.
